A Battlefords Day Before Gold Eagle
Before the evening at Gold Eagle Casino, the Battlefords have a river valley and a handful of places the casino itself names. This page names them in turn and leaves their hours, prices and seasons to their own pages.

The river valley and the trails
The casino's Getting Here page carries an "Explore North Battleford" section about the Battlefords. Battleford, which makes up the Battlefords with North Battleford, lies 3 km from the casino in a straight line, to the south-west. Roads run longer than that line. For time outdoors, the page links to pages about the Battlefords River Valley and the Battlefords Trails.
Golf comes into it too. The same section speaks of fairways with a view of the North Saskatchewan river, and the phrase is its own. This guide adds nothing to it. The trails and the valley each have pages of their own, and those pages are the check before setting out.
Jackfish Lake and the winter hill
Jackfish Lake is the lake on the casino's list. On its shores sits Battlefords Provincial Park, which the page describes with beaches, a hiking trail and other activities. That is the full list, and this guide keeps to it.
Table Mountain Regional Park is the other outdoor name, given for skiing and snowboarding in winter. Seasons, hours and fees belong to each park's own page, so that is where to check before driving out. This guide gives no distance to either park.
The fort, the museums and the stage
For history and family visits, the casino's page names several places. Fort Battleford National Historic Site is one of them. The Western Development Museum in North Battleford and the North Battleford Sports Museum Hall of Fame are two more. The last two are the Allen Sapp Gallery and the Dekker Centre for the Performing Arts.
What is inside each one, when the doors open and what a visit costs are questions for their own pages. This guide prints none of their hours. Check each place's page before the visit, not the casino's.
Golf above the North Saskatchewan
The casino's page names the North Battleford Golf & Country Club and Cochin Golf at Jackfish Lodge for golf. It speaks of fairways with a view of the North Saskatchewan river. Those words are the page's, not this guide's. Tee times, green fees and the length of the season are for each club to give. Nothing here says which course sits nearer to the casino.
Pacing the day toward evening
The simplest plan leaves the evening for the casino and keeps the day to what each place's page confirms. The casino floor opens at 10 am every day. Kihiw Restaurant is open by 11:30 am and stays open until 9 pm.
Live tables run on a shorter week. From Thursday to Sunday, Blackjack and Phil 'Em Up Poker begin at 5 pm, and Monday to Wednesday have none. Since no holiday hours are published, calling the casino at 306-446-3833 is the way to check.
Short answers
- Does this guide give opening hours for the fort or the museums?
- This guide leaves those hours out. Hours, prices and seasons for Fort Battleford National Historic Site and the museums stay with their own pages. Check those pages before planning the day around a visit.
- Where is the lake the casino's page mentions?
- The lake is Jackfish Lake. Battlefords Provincial Park sits on its shores, with beaches, a hiking trail and other activities. This guide gives no distance or directions to it.
- Is Table Mountain a summer stop?
- The casino's page names Table Mountain Regional Park for skiing and snowboarding in winter. It says nothing about other seasons, so the park's own page is the place to check.
